Ingredients You’ll Need

Makes about 1 quart

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup powdered drink mix (Tang, Kool-Aid, or similar)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for extra depth)
  • Optional Add-Ins :
    • Sprinkles
    • Mini marshmallows
    • Crushed graham crackers

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Whip the Cream

  1. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. This should take about 3–5 minutes. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 2: Sweeten the Mixture

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, powdered drink mix, and vanilla extract (if using). Stir until the mixture is smooth and the drink mix is fully dissolved.

Step 3: Combine the Mixtures

  1. Gently fold the whipped cream into the sweetened condensed milk mixture in three parts. Use a spatula and fold carefully to avoid deflating the whipped cream. The mixture should be light, fluffy, and evenly colored.
  2. If adding sprinkles, mini marshmallows, or other mix-ins, gently fold them in at this stage.

Step 4: Freeze

  1. Pour the mixture into a loaf pan or airtight container. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  2. Cover the surface of the ice cream with plastic wrap to prevent ice crystals from forming.
  3. Freeze for 4–6 hours , or until firm.
