Standing for a long time can make the skin on your feet harden, which can result in cracked heels. To avoid this, make sure to move around frequently and wear the right shoes.

As we get older, our skin loses its flexibility and becomes thicker, drier, and flaky. Cracks on the skin of the feet can become more noticeable as we age.

Obesity: Being very overweight puts pressure on the fat cushion under the heel. This can cause the pad to stretch out, and if the skin is not flexible, it can press on the foot and create cracks in the heel.

Signs: Initially, the skin on the heel becomes rough and uneven, it turns dry, sensitive, and loses its flexibility. The skin starts to become hard, and as the issue gets worse, the heel starts to crack and change color to white, yellow, or red. Therefore, the skin becomes exposed to bacteria and is more likely to get infections.
