quick and easy Ambrosia Salad dish

What on earth is this Ambrosia salad all about? What is it? A plethora of delicious things! Oh my goodness! Crushed pineapple, maraschino cherries, coconut, and mandarin oranges!
Nuts are a favorite topping for some. Some people don't. Either way, I don't pass judgment. If I'm feeling very indulgent, I'll roast the nuts before adding them to this simple ambrosia salad. It makes all the difference in the world. Although I like the multicolored fruit flavored marshmallows, I used white micro marshmallows for this salad. Those never fail to liven things up, and I like the vibrancy they provide. How about you decide?

There's a lot of flavor in this salad, and even though I don't use sugar, the fruit makes it seem quite sweet. Sour cream is a little-known hidden ingredient in my recipe. The tartness of the sour cream cuts through the sweetness of everything else. It would also be absolutely perfect with Greek yogurt. This ambrosia salad would be too sweet without it.

Delightfulness envelops every mouthful. I tell you, it's magic!

I believe you'll agree that this Ambrosia Salad is the BEST if you attempt it on a Tuesday night (since it's so quick) and want to "wow" your friends or family.

One 8-ounce container of Cool Whip (light is OK)
quarter cup of sour cream, mild is great.
1 and a half ounces of drained mandarin oranges
Drained pineapple, 20 oz. cann
Maraschino cherries, 10 ounces (after draining, halving, and patting dry), in a jar
1-cup flakes of sweetened coconut
half a cup of little marshmallows
pecans, walnuts, or cashews, chopped, measuring half a cup not mandatory

Instructions
