Paella with Potatoes, Peas, Cheesy Ham, 6 serves

One and a half tablespoons of unsalted butter I 
1 medium onion, finely chopped
Three minced garlic cloves, all-purpose flour, three teaspoons
2 mugs of full-fat heated milk
Half a cup of fat-free milk
Half a teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
Two pounds of potatoes should be finely sliced, about one eighth of an inch thick.
1.5 cups of cooked ham, chopped
1 cup of strong cheddar cheese that has been shredded
chopped Parmesan cheese and half a cup of peas, either fresh or frozen

Press the oven's high heat setting to 375 °F (190 °C). A baking dish should be coated with butter. 1.

Advice and Changes
For a vegetarian version, you may replace the ham with sautéed mushrooms or zucchini. Swapping up the cheddar for Gruyère will make it nuttier, and if you want to add some texture, sprinkle some breadcrumbs mixed with herbs and butter on top. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a splash of hot sauce to taste if you like the cream sauce on the spicier side.
